The Field Service Technician will play a critical role in supporting Siemens' solar photovoltaic (PV) technology portfolio after the sale is complete. As a technical subject matter expert (SME), you will provide hands-on service, troubleshooting, warranty support, and customer assistance for installed PV inverter systems. This customer-facing role requires a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. This position is remote and can be based anywhere within the contiguous United States. You will make a difference by: Providing field service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and warranty remediation for installed PV inverter systems. Delivering technical and after-sales support to customers, including installation guidance, commissioning, startup assistance, firmware upgrades, monitoring system configuration, and equipment replacement. Investigating product performance concerns, warranty claims, and technical issues to identify effective solutions. Supporting the sales organization as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert for PV inverter technologies. Completing all required service documentation, reports, and material/parts requests accurately and in a timely manner. Performing preventative maintenance activities on installed equipment as required. Providing remote technical support and Help Desk services for customers and field personnel. Maintaining a high level of professionalism, organization, and customer focus while managing multiple priorities. Adhering to all Siemens and customer safety policies and procedures. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy, power systems, electrical services, or a related technical field. Demonstrated success working independently in customer-facing field service or technical support roles. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of power systems, power electronics, and controls. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel up to 80% domestically. Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and other demanding field environments. Must reside within the contiguous United States. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
