Bring your drive and diagnostic know-how to our rental facility in Columbia, MO. As a Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician, you’ll keep a modern, tech-enabled fleet running strong—both in the shop and on customer sites.
Your Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime after 40 hours. This role may include on-call rotations with additional compensation.
A Day in the Life
You start your morning by reviewing digital work orders in our T3 platform, checking service intervals, and prioritizing calls. By mid-morning, you’re pulling live data from a variety of makes and models to pinpoint root causes. After lunch, you order parts from your tablet, coach a junior tech through a hydraulic troubleshooting sequence, and document your repairs before heading to a nearby jobsite for an urgent field call. You finish the day with a clean service vehicle and complete documentation.
What You’ll Tackle
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer-owned equipment, including aerial lifts
- Leverage laptops/tablets and telematics to speed up troubleshooting across hundreds of makes and models
- Create, assign, and close work orders; track maintenance intervals; and manage parts through our technology platform
- Maintain accurate daily electronic documentation of all work performed
- Coach and support lower-level technicians as needed
- Assist with equipment and parts pick-up/delivery
- Travel to customer jobsites as required and maintain a clean, professional service vehicle
- Follow safe work practices; OSHA knowledge preferred
- Participate in year-round, company-provided OEM training

Skills and Qualifications
- Owns tools applicable to the position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and strong tool knowledge
- Deep familiarity with construction equipment; reads schematics/diagrams with confidence
- Excellent customer service, teamwork, and written/verbal communication
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required; trade school certificate preferred
- Field service, maintenance, and repair experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; must be 21+ to operate a company vehicle
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Some worksites require Field Technicians to be clean shaven
- This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 paneldrug screen
