Field Service Mechanic — Aerial & Crane Equipment

CTOS powers critical infrastructure work nationwide with a fleet of 10,000+ units, 40+ locations, and 2,600 employees. We’re looking for a field-focused mechanic who thrives on solving tough problems at the customer site.

Your Impact

• Own on-site diagnosis and repair for utility and construction equipment: bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, service trucks, and more.
• Maintain and repair diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems; conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and component replacement.
• Handle compliance checkpoints including DOT inspections and dielectric testing on CTOS rental and customer assets.

Territory & Travel

• Home options: Ann Arbor, Monroe, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo.
• Primary coverage in Michigan; support into Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and other regions as business requires.
• Remote road mechanic scope with most assignments within a 150-mile radius of Las Vegas.
• Overnight travel about 25% across MI, IN, OH, and IL.

Must-Haves

• CDL required to operate a CTOS Class B Service Truck (26,000 lb. GVWR).
• 7+ years of combined shop and field experience.
• Proven background with utility, construction ("yellow iron"), or heavy equipment — CAT, Deere, Komatsu — and medium/heavy-duty trucks.
• Independent, organized, and comfortable working solo or with a team in the field.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class B is a plus and personal tools are required.
