From inspections and alignments to installations and rebuilds, you'll ensure our equipment performs to the highest standards. You'll collaborate with global teams and attend trainings in Italy, UK, and Czech Republic to stay ahead of the curve.As a Field Service Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:Performing mechanical inspections, maintenance, and repairs on generators per OEM standardsStripping down, rebuilding, fault-finding, and overhauling large generators and related equipmentInstalling and commissioning turbo-driven generators, sync condensers, and motorsConducting mechanical alignments and basic electrical tests using optical, laser, and electrical systemsInterpreting technical specifications and preparing method statements and customer reportsSupporting winding specialists with in-situ winding repairs and rewindsDelivering solutions beyond the scope when required to meet customer needsFuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Hold an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent experienceHave 5+ years of hands‑on experience with motors and/or generatorsBe self‑sufficient, resourceful, and a strong problem solverCommunicate effectively in spoken and written EnglishBe willing to travel offshore and overseas for assignments and trainingDemonstrate initiative and confidence when operating independently on-siteLead by example in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practicesBe a collaborative team player with the ability to work solo when neededWorking with usOur people are at the heart of what we do at Baker Hughes.
