Field Service Mechanical Technician
Job Summary:
Adecco Staffing is teaming up with a local manufacturer in Woonsocket, RI seeking a hands-on and customer-focused Field Service Mechanical Technician to provide installation, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for industrial equipment at customer facilities. This field-based position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a professional approach when representing the company on-site.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and helping keep production equipment operating efficiently.
This position salary will be based off experience and skills. This is a first shift role with hours subjected to change due to travel requirements. Will be required to travel up to 50% or more once fully trained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities;
Installation & Commissioning
- Assist with the installation, alignment, setup, and startup of industrial equipment.
- Verify mechanical assemblies, wiring, and safety systems prior to operation.
- Support on-site equipment commissioning alongside engineering and service teams as needed.
Troubleshooting & Repair- Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues involving motors, drives, sensors, and other industrial components.
- Perform equipment repairs, adjustments, preventative maintenance, and component replacements.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend practical solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems using drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Customer Support- Serve as a professional on-site representative during customer service calls.
- Communicate effectively with customer maintenance personnel, operators, and supervisors.
- Provide basic equipment operation and maintenance training when needed.
- Maintain a high level of customer service while addressing technical concerns.
Documentation- Complete service reports, work orders, and job summaries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate follow-up requirements and technical findings to internal service and engineering teams.
Qualifications:Required Qualifications- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience working with industrial equipment, manufacturing machinery, maintenance, or field service.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with motors, drives, sensors, and industrial control components.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly for domestic service assignments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service priorities.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery.
- Prior field service or road technician experience.
- Experience with web handling, winding, plastics, converting, or similar industrial machinery.
Work Environment:- Frequent domestic travel to customer facilities.
- Hands-on work in industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with internal service and engineering teams.
- Exposure to manufacturing equipment, machinery, and production environments.

Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
