Key job Elements:
  • Welding components of production and field service light armored vehicles 
  • Repair of existing light armored vehicles 
  • Remove and replace damaged components 
  • Maintain safe work practices and be able to work in confined spaces and perform physical tasks 
  • Prepare site reports while deployed
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external customers on weld repairs and procedures
  • Perform repair estimates in the field for the customer
  • Troubleshoot during weld repair
  • Assist in mechanical tear down of vehicles in preparation of weld repair
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
 Required Qualifications:
 
  • Valid welding certification – D0040 (GDLSC Welder Qualification)
  • All position SMAW (Stick), GMAW (Mig) and GTAW (Tig) Welder qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with ballistic steel
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Displays technical or professional expertise
  • Ability to exceed expectations when completing defined tasks
  • Experience working with teams and/or customers
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Must meet anthropometrical size restrictions for confined work space
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Ability to travel domestic/internationally up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College diploma
  • Previous light armored vehicle repair and maintenance experience with GDLS products
  • Red Seal Journeyman
