Field Service Technician – Light Industry Water Treatment
We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Xylem Light Industry team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem solving, customer interaction, and learning new skills in the water treatment industry.
The Field Service Technician will support installation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial water treatment equipment. This may include service deionization systems, filtration systems, softeners, reverse osmosis equipment, pretreatment systems, controls, and related process water equipment.
The right candidate will be safety-focused, customer-oriented, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn. Experience in industrial or commercial process water is a plus, but we are also looking for individuals with strong technical aptitude, professionalism, and the desire to grow into a highly skilled service role.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of technical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, maintenance, or field service experience preferred.
Industrial or commercial process water experience is a plus.
Experience using Microsoft Office, email, mobile devices, tablets, and work order systems.
Ability to work in a highly customer-facing role while maintaining professionalism and strong communication.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and follow service procedures.
Ability to identify, communicate, and correct potential safety concerns.
Willingness to work in the field, travel locally, and support customer sites as needed.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR, and DOT physical.

Driving Requirements

Candidates must meet and maintain company driving standards and be eligible to complete all required driver qualification documentation, including:

  • Driver Application for Employment
  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Driver Disclosure and Release
  • Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement
  • FMCSA Certificate of Awareness
  • Driver Certificate of Violations
  • Driver Statement of On-Duty Hours
  • Road Test Documentation
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Medical Certificate

The estimated salary range for this position is $26 to $29.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
