Field Service Technician

Sasso USA is a leading player in the CNC stone fabrication equipment industry — the U.S. home of Sassomeccanica's 5-axis CNC saws, sawjets, and polishing lines that stone, granite, and quartz fabricators across the country depend on to cut and finish slabs with precision. Since 1974, Sassomeccanica has been engineering equipment for the natural stone and quartz industry, and our Houston-based team keeps that equipment running for customers nationwide.

We're looking for a Field Service Technician who's ready to get hands-on with sophisticated CNC machinery and become the face of Sasso USA at customer sites all over the country. This isn't a desk job — it's a role for someone who likes solving real mechanical and electrical problems, working independently, and being the person a customer is genuinely glad to see walk through the door.

What you'll do

\n

Install, commission, and calibrate 5-axis CNC saws, sawjets, and automated polishing lines at customer facilities across the U.S.

\n

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC/PLC control issues on-site

\n

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits to keep customer equipment running at peak performance

\n

Train customer operators and maintenance staff on proper machine use and upkeep

\n

Provide phone and remote troubleshooting support between site visits

\n

Document every visit clearly — findings, parts used, and recommendations — so the Houston team stays in the loop

\n

Work closely with our parts and service team in Houston to source parts and pre-diagnose issues before you arrive on-site

\n

Represent Sasso USA with professionalism and pride — you're often the only company contact a customer sees in person

\n

What you bring

\n

2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial machinery, CNC equipment, or mechanical/electrical troubleshooting

\n

Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled equipment

\n

Comfort reading electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams

\n

A valid driver's license in good standing

\n

Willingness to travel extensively (50–75%) across the U.S., including overnight and multi-day trips

\n

Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the role, which include lifting up to 50 lbs and working in shop-floor environments (climbing, kneeling, and working in tight spaces); reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Sasso USA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role

\n

Strong communication skills — you'll be representing Sasso USA directly with customers, often without backup on-site

\n

Nice to have (not required):

\n

Experience servicing stone, tile, quartz, or other natural stone fabrication equipment

\n

CNC programming or PLC experience (Siemens, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, or similar)

\n

Bilingual English/Spanish

\n

Prior manufacturer-specific technical training or certifications
