HiFyve is hiring a Field Service Technician for a Manufacturing Equipment Company!
Salary: $25-52/hr also offers per diem
Shift: Have to be flexible depending on customer needs (could travel on weekends if needed)
Location: Kansas City Metro / Extensive Travel (North America with occasional international travel)
60-70% travel
Role Overview
Responsible for on-site troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of industrial food-processing equipment at customer locations. This role involves extensive travel and direct customer interaction, serving as a key technical representative in the field.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of industrial food-processing equipment
Install new equipment and ensure systems are fully operational per technical specifications
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational system issues
Serve as primary liaison between customers and internal support teams
Document all service activities accurately in CRM systems (Salesforce) within required timelines
Travel extensively to customer sites across North America with occasional international travel
Communicate job progress, findings, and recommendations to service leadership and customers
Recommend replacement parts, maintenance services, and equipment improvements
Train customers on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices
Provide on-site and remote technical support and training as needed
Maintain strong professional relationships and represent the company in the field
Education Requirements
Associate degree or technical diploma in electrical, mechanical maintenance, automation, or related field preferred
Equivalent hands-on experience in field service or industrial maintenance accepted
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
3+ years of field service, industrial maintenance, or packaging equipment experience (5+ preferred)
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience
Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and system documentation
Strong problem-solving skills in customer-facing, high-pressure environments
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing travel schedules
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience preferred
Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail

Valid driver’s license required
Valid passport or ability to obtain one required
Ability to travel frequently across North America with occasional international travel
