Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Field Service Technician. You will be responsible for performing repairs, installations, troubleshooting, diagnostic work, and maintenance on various aircraft ground support equipment such as aircraft wing deicing trucks, lavatory service trucks, towbarless pushback tractors, etc. This work is carried out in our shop located in McHenry IL, as well as at customer locations all over North America. There is also occasional travel required to Europe to our HQ's located in Denmark and Sweden. Once established, expect to travel between 40-50% of working time throughout the year.
Field service technicians play a crucial role in customer support- answering customer phone calls, emails, and addressing technical support tickets in our CRM system when you are not in the field. You will work closely with customers, as well as our internal teams including engineering support located in Denmark and Sweden. Strong communication skills over the phone as well as email proficiency is a must.
Responsibilities
As a Traveling Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of technical systems and equipment
All work done must adhere to all safety requirements
You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure the proper functioning of systems and troubleshoot any issues that may arise
Travel to different field locations to install, maintain, and repair technical equipment
Ensure that all work is completed according to specifications and meets quality standards
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including assisting customers with diagnostic and repair procedures through CRM ticket based system and phone calls
Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve complex problems
Prepare detailed reports on service visits, including findings and solutions implemented
Schedule:
8-hour shift 0700-1530 or 0800-1630
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certifications or relevant vocational training is a plus.
Valid driver's license
Valid Passport or ability to obtain one
3-5 years of experience in a similar technician role, field experience and/or airport equipment experience an advantage
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing technical equipment
Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in field conditions, e.g. outdoors, loud environments, cold and hot weather etc.
Work in shop settings based in McHenry IL as well as travel up to 40% to work at customer locations at airports throughout North America (almost always home for weekends and holidays, but some exclusions apply)
