Our client is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-precision CNC equipment at customer facilities throughout the United States. Responsibilities
Travel to customer facilities to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems while following OEM specifications.
Evaluate equipment issues, determine repair requirements, and coordinate necessary replacement parts and materials.
Perform preventive maintenance services to maximize machine reliability, performance, and equipment lifespan.
Troubleshoot CNC machine issues using mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Read and interpret ladder logic and assist in diagnosing machine control and electrical system issues.
Support commissioning, startup, and operational verification of machinery following installation or repair.
Prepare detailed field service reports documenting work performed, findings, recommendations, and machine status.
Accurately complete travel, time, and expense reports in accordance with company policies.
Maintain a professional appearance and provide outstanding customer service while representing the organization at customer sites.
Maintain a clean driving record and safely operate a company service vehicle.
Work closely with customers, internal engineering, and service teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Perform additional service and support responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience servicing industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, or related mechanical systems.
At least 1 year of electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Working knowledge of ladder logic for machine diagnostics.
Experience with FANUC CNC controls (Series 15i or newer) and familiarity with PMC functions is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of machine tool operation and industrial equipment.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Basic computer proficiency for documentation, reporting, and communication.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing multiple service assignments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience servicing CNC grinding machines or other CNC machine tools.
Background in field service, industrial maintenance, or capital equipment support.
Experience performing machine installations, commissioning, and customer training.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability best practices.
Strong organizational and planning skills for managing travel schedules and customer priorities.
Commitment to continuous learning and expanding technical knowledge.
