Electrical Field Service Technician
NETA II / III / IV | NICET EPT | or Equivalent Field Experience
OVERVIEW
Our client, a nationally recognized leader in electrical power services, is seeking Field Service Technicians (Level II–IV) to support acceptance and maintenance testing of medium- and high-voltage equipment across utility, industrial, and data center environments. This is a field-based role for technically skilled professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, operate with a safety-first mindset, and are ready to contribute to a high-utilization team with a deep project pipeline.
Placement title and compensation are commensurate with certification level and field experience. NETA and NICET EPT certifications are preferred but not required — strong hands-on apparatus testing experience will be considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Testing & Technical Services
Perform acceptance and maintenance testing per NETA standards on medium- and high-voltage equipment
Test and troubleshoot:- Switchgear (LV/MV)
- Power transformers
- Circuit breakers
- Protective relays and protection systems
Execute LOTO and safety procedures in compliance with NFPA 70E
Conduct arc-flash and shock hazard evaluations as required
Reporting & Documentation
- Analyze test results and identify deficiencies
- Generate detailed field service reports and documentation
- Provide timely updates to management and clients on findings and project status
Team & Leadership
- Support or lead field crews depending on experience and certification level
- Mentor junior technicians and trainees as applicable
Leadership Expectations by Level:
- Level II:
Executes testing under supervision; building technical foundation
- Level III:
Leads small crews, owns portions of projects independently
- Level IV:
SME / Lead Tech — client-facing, full project ownership, mentors junior staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 2–8+ years of electrical testing experience (range is level dependent)
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems
- Familiarity with NETA standards and NFPA 70E
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Certification — One of the Following:
- NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV) — preferred
- NICET EPT Certification (Level II, III, or IV) — accepted equivalent
- No certification — candidates with strong hands-on apparatus testing experience will be considered; certification is not required to apply
Also Preferred:
- OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid
- PowerDB proficiency
- OEM test equipment experience: Megger, Doble, Omicron, or similar

- Per diem: ~$127/day (GSA rate)
