Field Service Technician

**Travel to job sites in North and South Dakota and Western Minnesota**

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty refuse and environmental equipment.
• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, warranty repairs, and complete rebuilds.
• Utilize factory diagnostic software, programming tools, and testing equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Operate shop equipment including cranes, hoists, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Stay current on the latest equipment by attending manufacturer training and certification programs.
• Complete repair orders accurately while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional shop—and provide exceptional service when working at customer locations.
• Work closely with our Parts and Service teams to get customers back up and running as quickly as possible.

What You'll Bring

You're likely a great fit if you have:

• 3+ years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks or equipment.
• A Diesel Technician/Mechanic degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Welding and cutting torch experience.
• A valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new diagnostic software.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience working with refuse, environmental, municipal, or vocational equipment.
• A Class B CDL.
• OEM certifications or factory training.

Compensation: $45.00-$60.00per hour (or $93,600–$124,800 annually), based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding position involving extended periods of hands-on work in and around large equipment and mechanical systems. The role may require:

• Frequently bending, squatting, climbing, grasping, twisting, reaching, and working in various positions for extended periods.
• Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional handling of heavier items using appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.
• Standing, walking, and moving throughout the workday, including working in confined or elevated areas when necessary.
• Occasionally sitting and using a computer or diagnostic equipment to access technical information, document repairs, and complete service records.
• Working in shop or service environments with potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, noise, fumes, and other equipment-related hazards.
• Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required by applicable safety procedures.
