The OpportunityA Field Service Engineer spends most of their time in the field or at a customer site where heshe helps troubleshoot equipment problems. Field Service Engineers have specific training in the equipment they maintain which requires sound knowledge of the system wiring and sensing technology of a system. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters work independently most of the time adhere to schedules follow company processes manage customer expectations and are able to quickly repairtroubleshoot system problems in the field.
Business LineThis role directly supports our Weather business. The team provides field maintenance to Instrument Landing Systems ILS Automated Weather Observations Systems AWOS Control Tower and NAVAIDS and RoadRunway Weather Information Systems RWIS.
You will make an impact by…. Managing a customer portfolio. Providing routine maintenance checks on a schedule and within regulatory compliance FAA DOT etc. Providing timely and detailed site reports to central office following all customer visits. Using company RM3 monitor tools to manage customer outagesuptime of systems. Providing all on-site installation repair maintenance and test tasks. Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determine proper solution. Providing field calls to customer system outages. Managing inventory of company owned spare parts. Managing monthly expense reporting. Managing company owned vehicle - routine maintenance brake checks oil changes as needed. Following all company procedures and protocols
The talent we want to inspire has.. Five years of Field Service experience Able to drive up to 8 hours per day Able to travel 75 of the time Lift up to 50-70 pounds Able to climb 30-foot towersproperly use all safety climbing equipment Have the ability to problem solve troubleshoot test repair and service technical equipment Document testing procedures and written work in FAADOT logbooks Follow all regulatory rules or requirements of job site inclusive of OSHA and EPA regulations Work independently on-site most of time only person on-site Replaceinstall sensors upon failure Communicate any field issuesconcerns to customer andor to supervisor or central office Properly use test equipment hand-held tools and power tools as needed Properly test power source and voltage Hold a valid drivers license
This would be a plus but not a must ILS Certification Proficient in tower climbing Hold FCC license
