Role Description The Field Services Engineer is a full-time, field based (remote) role preferably based in the midwest region of the United States, with a particular interest in candidates from Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin. This position is responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing CANNON instruments at customer locations, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing equipment issues, performing troubleshooting and repairs, executing preventive maintenance, and providing technical support to end users. The Field Services Engineer will document service activities, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with customers about findings, solutions, and best practices. This role also collaborates with internal teams to relay customer feedback, support continuous improvement, and uphold CANNON’s standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong field service and on-site installation skills, with experience working on complex instrumentation or industrial equipment.

• Demonstrated troubleshooting and technical support abilities for mechanical, electrical, and/or software-related issues.

• Experience performing preventive maintenance, calibration, and routine inspections on technical systems or laboratory instruments.
• \n
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and build positive relationships.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• \n
• Ability to read technical diagrams and documentation, use diagnostic tools, and follow established safety and quality procedures.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed and work independently in varied laboratory and industrial environments.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with basic computer applications and service reporting tools.
