Role Description The Field Services Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Tigard, OR, supporting customers with CNC and Swiss machine installation, maintenance, and optimization. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing field service visits, diagnosing mechanical and control issues, completing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance and machine inspections. The role involves providing technical support and troubleshooting guidance, documenting service activities, and recommending process improvements to enhance uptime and cycle times. The Field Services Engineer will collaborate with customer production teams, assist with tooling selection and setup, and support operator training to stabilize machining processes and improve repeatability. This position requires regular travel to customer facilities within the region and clear, professional communication with stakeholders.

• Strong field service experience with CNC and/or Swiss machining equipment, including on-site installation, repair, and commissioning.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.

• Hands-on preventive maintenance skills, including routine inspections, adjustments, and documentation of machine condition.
• \n
• Customer service skills focused on clear communication, professionalism, and building long-term relationships with manufacturing clients.

• Experience with process optimization, cycle time reduction, and tooling/setup improvements in a production environment.

• Ability to read technical drawings, machine manuals, and schematics; familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc or similar) is highly beneficial.

• Comfort with regional travel to customer sites and working in shop-floor environments with appropriate safety practices.

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

• Prior experience in precision manufacturing, medical device, or ISO-regulated environments is a required.
