Field Technical Service

Summary:

Location: 7299 Clinton Dr., Houston, TX 77020

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on switcher and local locomotives.
• Adhere to company safety standards and all applicable local, state, and federal rules regarding locomotive maintenance and repair.
• Fuel, sand, and conduct daily inspections of locomotives.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules, including cleaning oils, filling tanks, and adjusting equipment.
• Complete basic repairs on equipment and machines, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and air brake systems.
• Conduct field service work, traveling to locations in and around Houston, TX using company vehicles to perform maintenance duties in the field.
• Conduct regular visual inspections of maintenance equipment, including company vehicles.
• Complete all maintenance functions in accordance with established procedures, policies, and safety regulations.
• Update maintenance log books and sign off work orders to reflect work completed.
• Ensure effective communication, coordination, and working relations with area personnel.
• Meet customer needs by completing maintenance functions in a timely manner and suggest improvements to operational procedures as appropriate.
• Keep management informed of area activities and any significant equipment problems.
• Ensure that the work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
• Stay informed of maintenance requirements and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school degree or equivalent; training in maintenance and repair operations and safety certification may be required.
• Knowledge of basic mechanics.
• Minimum of one year in diesel engine or electrical repairs.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency with computer and office equipment.
• Experience with MS Office.
