Field Technician – Camera, Low Voltage & Access Control

Position Summary


525 Technologies is seeking a skilled and reliable Field Technician to support camera installations, low-voltage cabling, and access control systems for school systems. This role requires hands-on technical experience, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a strong commitment to professionalism when representing our company on customer sites.


Key Responsibilities


  • Install, configure, and service:

    • Security cameras (IP and related hardware)

    • Low-voltage cabling and infrastructure

    • Access control systems

  • Perform on-site work at schools and educational facilities

  • Read and follow installation plans, diagrams, and scope documents

  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation or connectivity issues

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with school staff and administrators

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Represent 525 Technologies in a professional and respectful manner at all times

  • Document work performed and report job status as required

Required Qualifications


  • Prior experience with camera installations, low-voltage work, or access control systems

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces as required

  • Professional demeanor when working in school environments

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working in schools, colleges, or public-sector facilities

  • Familiarity with structured cabling standards

  • Access control or security system certifications (a plus, not required)

  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, PoE, switches)
