Low Voltage Technician

Company Overview

Prime Connected is a national low voltage company with over 20 years of experience supporting the healthcare industry. We design, install, and support the critical low voltage systems hospitals and healthcare teams rely on every day.

From patient monitoring and nurse call systems to structured cabling and emerging healthcare technologies, our technicians play a direct role in improving how care is delivered in active hospital environments.

The Opportunity

This Omaha-based role is a hands-on field position where you will build and expand real technical skills in low voltage cabling and healthcare systems. You will work primarily on local projects, with some travel as needed, installing and supporting the infrastructure that keeps hospitals connected and running.

If you enjoy physical, technical work, want consistent projects without being on the road full-time, and like seeing the direct impact of what you build, this is a strong long-term career opportunity.

What You'll Do

  • Install, route, and terminate category cable and fiber for low voltage systems in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
  • Work in active hospital environments, including ceilings, IDF/MDF rooms, and patient care areas, following all safety and site protocols.
  • Read and interpret prints, follow project scope, and complete assigned tasks to specification.
  • Test, label, and document cabling installations to meet quality and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with project leads and other technicians to complete jobs on time and on budget, including some travel to job sites as required.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within your first few months, you are independently installing, terminating, and testing cabling that passes quality checks with minimal rework.
  • Projects you support are completed on schedule, with accurate documentation and clean, well-organized cabling work.
  • Hospital staff and project leaders recognize you as reliable, safety-conscious, and professional when working in active patient care environments.
  • You steadily expand your skills across cat cable, fiber, and healthcare systems, taking on more complex tasks and responsibilities over your first year.

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience with structured cabling, including cat cable and/or fiber termination and installation.
  • Comfort working in active job site environments, including ladders, ceilings, and physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when labeling, testing, and documenting cabling work.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to communicate clearly with team members and leadership.

Compensation and Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • HSA options, paid time off, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and referral program
  • Ongoing training and skill development
