Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of steel structure foundations and repairs.
- Perform substation foundation and repair inspections.
- Oversee wood pole treatment and testing methods.
- Supervise steel structure coating crews.
- Evaluate transmission structures to assess the health of electrical circuits.
- Assess storm damage and support emergency restoration crews.
Requirements:
- 5 years of active field experience.
- Proficiency in computer skills for completing daily and weekly reports.
- Capability in photo documentation with knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Valid driver's license and US citizenship.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to create detailed reports.
- Must be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs at any given time throughout the day.
- Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day across rough terrain and/or uneven surfaces.
Preferred Skills:
- 7 years of knowledge in transmission line work, foundations, and stringing of conductors.
- Experience with transmission substations and facilities.
- Knowledge of QA/QC inspections and reporting practices.
- Familiarity with various electronics used to create reports.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Willingness to travel in OH, PA, Virginia, WV, Jersey, Maryland based on current location.
- Ability to drive to job location as part of the workday.
