Field Technician/Handyman

• Frustrated with doing the same tasks day after day?
• Feeling undervalued in your current role?
• Looking for a new opportunity beyond the same old job-site routine?
• Love digging into tough problems, finding root causes and turning challenges into lasting solutions?
• Are you someone who thrives in working independently?

ElmBrook Handyman is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced, dependable Field Technician/Handyman to join our team.

We’re not looking for someone who just knows how to swing a hammer. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can solve problems, communicates well with clients, and understands what it means to work professionally inside someone’s home or business.

Our clients count on us to show up when we say we will, communicate clearly, do quality work, and leave their property better than we found it. If that sounds like how you like to work, we should talk.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are exactly the same. You’ll work on a variety of residential and light commercial repair, maintenance, installation, and improvement projects throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.

Typical projects may include:

• Light plumbing - toilets, sinks, faucets, garbage disposals...
• Light electrical - outlets, ceiling fans, light fixtures, switches...
• Doors - interior, storm doors, closet doors...
• Home Decor - TV mounting, picture and artwork hanging...
• Siding, fascia, wood rot, caulking, and exterior repairs
• Smart locks, thermostats, cameras, video doorbells, and other smart-home products
• Furniture and equipment assembly
• Shelving, mirrors, artwork, blinds, curtain rods, and other installations
• Punch-list and property maintenance work
• Drywall repair and patching
• Troubleshooting those occasional projects where the client says, “I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong, but can you fix it?”

You don't need to be an expert at absolutely everything. You do need to have a strong general skill set, know your limitations, and be willing to learn.

What We're Looking For

The right person is someone who can walk into a project, assess what needs to be done, develop a plan, and get to work without needing someone looking over their shoulder all day.

Ideally, you have:

• A professional appearance and attitude
• Strong communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to figure out a solution to the problems
• Experience with basic plumbing and electrical repairs
• Previous handyman, remodeling, carpentry, construction, property maintenance, or similar hands-on experience
• Strong working knowledge of common hand and power tools
