As a Field Technician – Over-the-Road (OTR) Vehicles, you will be an essential part of the Shop Maintenance team at Baranko Companies (Baranko Brothers, Inc). You'll be our in-the-field service mechanic, keeping our OTR equipment running smoothly to support ongoing projects. This hands-on position provides an opportunity to apply your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to contribute to the overall success of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct inspections on OTR equipment, such as pick-ups, semis, side-dump, belly-dump, and automotive-sized trailers to detect and diagnose issues with their engines, transmission, and hydraulic systems.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans for all OTR equipment on site, ensuring that each is tuned to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance on heavy equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Can rapidly diagnose equipment condition, identify faults, and assess repairability, determining whether issues can be resolved in the field or require full shop repair.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, perform regular stock checks, and order new parts as needed.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including work orders, inspection reports, and any other relevant documents.

  • Lead by example and encourage accountability both up and down the chain of command.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Truck Technician.
  • Completion of a mechanic apprenticeship/internship program or equivalent training.
  • Ability to work in the field, in all types of weather conditions and be available for overtime work as needed; ability to work in the shop, if needed.
  • Proficient in repairing diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Advance knowledge of industry-standard maintenance and diagnostic tools.
  • Must provide and maintain personal tools to conduct Field Technician work.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment.
  • Required to have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
  • Must be 18 years or older to be considered for this position.
