FIELD TECHNICIAN

Starting Salary: $16.00 per hour, Commensurate with Experience

The South Texas Water Authority, a Texas “at-will” employer, is accepting applications for Field Technician.

DUTIES:

Reading meters, repairing leaks, assisting with pump and motor repair and replacement, taking water samples, operating a variety of equipment including backhoe and trackhoe, and performing various other duties. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required.  Two years of experience in waterworks operations, use of general construction equipment, and a class “D” water certificate issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality preferred, but not required. Successful applicant must have a valid driver’s license, be able to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Drivers License, and be insurable under the Authority’s current carriers. The successful applicant must be able to lift 50 – 80 pounds on a regular basis, perform all job requirements and pass a drug/alcohol test, background check and physical examination.  Will train qualified candidate.
