Who We Are
Carnegie Robotics partners with industry leaders across defense, commercial, and industrial sectors to deliver rugged autonomous robotic solutions designed for real-world environments. Our systems support applications including off-road autonomy, logistics, industrial inspection, mining, perception systems, and advanced autonomous vehicle operations. We thrive on solving difficult engineering challenges and deploying systems that perform reliably in demanding operational conditions.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking highly motivated and adaptable engineers who are passionate about autonomous systems, field testing, and hands-on problem solving. Successful candidates will be comfortable working on a wide variety of robotic and autonomous vehicle programs while supporting testing, integration, troubleshooting, and operational deployments in both controlled and real-world environments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with cutting-edge technology, traveling to support field operations, and collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and customer teams to ensure mission success.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Field Test Engineer, you will support the integration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of Carnegie Robotics' autonomous systems across multiple programs and vehicle platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering support with operational field testing and requires the ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve issues in dynamic environments.
You will work alongside software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to execute test plans, support platform integration efforts, collect and analyze operational data, and maintain fleet readiness for ongoing development and customer operations. The role will involve frequent travel to test sites and customer locations to support autonomous vehicle operations and demonstrations.
