Filler Operator

Filler Operator Responsibilities: 

Safely runs, operates, and maintains equipment that fills containers.  


Routinely: 

Performs startup, set up, and change over tasks. 

Assess quality of product. 

Identifies and attaches pump lines. 

Starts filler machine and continually monitors filling operation.  

Performs daily preventative maintenance on filler equipment. 

Inspects filled containers to ensure that product is packaged according to quality specifications  and adjusts as necessary. 

Cuts stencils and recording of stencils information on containers such as lot number or shipping destination. 

Feeds and fills containers to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices. 

Works with supervisor and line leader to resolve filling issues or malfunctions.  

Stops (Lock-Out-Tag-Out) machines and reports issues and malfunctions to a supervisor or line leader. 

Reports incidents, hazards, and accidents or potential issues related to quality and environment control. 

Uses math to calculate weights, set scales, make torque adjustments, and enter data codes. 

Uses writing and basic computer skills to complete, communicate, and generate production paperwork as well as status updates. 

Completes paperwork and logbooks. 

Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product containers. 

Accurately completes production reporting paperwork in a timely manner  

Performs other duties that may be assigned as needed 

Qualifications: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Math ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply, and divide with 10’s and 100’s, as well as using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance 

Language, Writing, and Basic Computer Operating Skills include: 

An ability to read,  write, and understand instructions and simple sentences 

An ability to understand the similarities and differences between words and between a series of numbers  

Required basic computer operating skills  

Physical Demand and Work Conditions 

A high volume of walking, sitting, and standing is part of the daily schedule at ZXP. 

Employees frequently reach with hands and feet, and occasionally is required to move up to 25 pounds.  

Specific vision abilities are required to perform this job. They include, but are not limited to distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 

All ZXP employees are exposed to weather conditions consistent with the Texas region. Also, frequent exposure to moving equipment, and high noise levels typical of a manufacturing plant with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals is expected.
