The Filling Operator 1 supports the production of culture media by operating and maintaining filling and packaging equipment. This is an entry-level role focused on following procedures, ensuring product quality, and helping the team meet daily production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- The individual will perform or assist in the setup, inspection, operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and cleaning of equipment used throughout the Prepared Culture Media filling/bottling processes.
- Additionally, this individual will be responsible for completing production batches and corresponding documentation for the associated tasks.
- The individual will also perform all ancillary tasks to support routine production, including area cleaning and 5S, movement of materials, AQL inspections, reworks, material reconciliation, and other tasks deemed necessary.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- No prior experience required (manufacturing experience is a plus)
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain compliance
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
Working Conditions
- Standing or sitting for extended periods
- Wearing protective equipment during most of the shift
- Lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
The pay for this role based in Illinois is between $23.14. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
