Looking for an opportunity to function as the top finance leader for a growing manufacturing business and directly influence company performance?

We are partnering with a privately held manufacturing organization seeking a Finance & Accounting Director to lead the U.S. finance function and serve as the primary financial business partner to the U.S. General Manager.

This role functions much like a "mini CFO" for U.S. operations. The successful candidate will help drive business performance through strong operational finance, cost accounting, inventory management, cash flow discipline, and strategic decision support. This is a highly visible player-coach leadership role requiring someone who is equally comfortable operating in the details and at the leadership table.

The company has successfully completed a significant operational transformation and is continuing to invest in growth, process improvements, and future expansion initiatives, including expansion into Mexico.

What You'll Do

• Lead all accounting and finance activities for the U.S. business

• Serve as the primary financial advisor and business partner to the U.S. General Manager

• Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Drive improvements in cash flow, working capital management, inventory performance, and overall financial discipline

• Manage cost accounting, inventory analysis, and operational finance activities

• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools that improve business visibility and decision-making

• Partner closely with operations leadership to improve profitability, efficiency, and business performance

• Support capital planning, pricing decisions, and strategic growth initiatives

• Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounting team

• Support future growth initiatives, including expansion into Mexico and related reporting requirements

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

• Experience serving as a Director of Finance, Finance & Accounting Director, Controller, CFO, Division CFO, Business Unit Finance Leader, or senior finance business partner within a manufacturing environment

• Strong cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance expertise

• Demonstrated experience partnering directly with operations and executive leadership teams

• Experience improving cash flow, working capital, inventory performance, and financial processes

• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate strategically while remaining actively involved in day-to-day finance and accounting activities

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to influence business decisions through financial insight and operational partnership

Ideal Background

• Manufacturing Controller, Director of Finance, CFO, or senior finance leader within a small-to-mid-sized manufacturing business

• Experience balancing strategic finance leadership with hands-on ownership of accounting and finance operations

• Early-career experience within larger organizations combined with broader leadership responsibilities in smaller environments is highly attractive

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing, industrial, or product-based industry experience

• SAP experience

• CPA or public accounting foundation

• Experience supporting inventory-intensive operations

• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

• Function as the top finance leader for U.S. operations

• Direct partnership with a highly respected and collaborative General Manager

• Opportunity to influence both financial and operational performance

• Broad responsibility across accounting, finance, operations, and business strategy

• Growing organization investing in people, processes, and future expansion

• Visible impact on company performance and future growth

• Stable company with strong long-term growth potential

Compensation

Base salary: $150,000–$180,000

Bonus opportunity: 10%–15%
