This position will support Prescott's, Inc. located in our Monument, CO location.

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and proactive Finance and Accounting Specialist to join our finance department. In this position, you will support the financial close process, along with reporting, budgeting, and delivering essential insights to help achieve our strategic business goals. Your expertise will contribute to the maintenance of strong internal controls and the overall financial health of Prescott's, Inc.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries required to complete the monthly financial close process.
  • Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with GAAP.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare financial reports and perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to assist management decision-making.
  • Assist with external audit processes by providing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Support tax compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax returns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and improve processes.
  • Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Support new system implementations (NetSuite) and process improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Ensure high accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Dependable and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Preferred:

  • CPA or CMA certification designation is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in SPA and Business Analysis helpful.
