Finance Associate

A nationally recognized Am Law 200 law firm consistently ranked among the country's top firms for culture, innovation, wellness, diversity, and attorney integration, is seeking a Corporate Finance Associate with at least three years of experience to join its sophisticated Business Transactions Practice Group in Hartford, Stamford, Boston or New York.

Practice Overview

The firm's Finance Group represents clients nationwide in a broad range of sophisticated financing transactions. The team advises:

• Commercial banks
• Private credit funds
• Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs)
• Venture funds
• Financial sponsors
• Portfolio companies
• Other institutional lenders and borrowers

Representative matters include:

• First lien financing transactions
• Second lien financings
• Unsecured lending transactions
• Acquisition financings
• Asset-based lending
• Venture lending transactions
• Commercial credit facilities
• Sponsor-backed financings

Candidate Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:

• At least three years of sophisticated corporate finance experience in a law firm
• Experience representing both borrowers and lenders
• Experience structuring, negotiating, and documenting complex debt financing transactions
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Excellent academic credentials
• The ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Experience with acquisition finance and venture lending is preferred, but not required.

Candidates must be admitted, or eligible for admission, in the state corresponding to their primary office location.

Compensation

For New York and Massachusetts-based candidates, the anticipated base salary range is approximately $195,000-$217,500, depending upon experience, class year, office location, and overall qualifications.
