Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Finance Associate for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This is a temporary, full-time, 100% remote opportunity within the United States, with a preference for professionals able to work Eastern or Central Time hours.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Finance Associate will provide essential day-to-day accounting and finance support during a temporary leave coverage period. This individual will support financial transactions, reconciliations, month-end close activities, documentation, and AP/AR functions while working closely with the finance team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and comfortable independently managing accounting priorities in a fully remote environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support day-to-day financial transaction processing, including receivables, expenses, reimbursements, invoices, deposits, payables, and related accounting activities.

• Assist with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.

• Maintain accurate documentation supporting billing, financial reporting, and audit requirements.

• Monitor outstanding financial items and follow up on approvals, reimbursements, credit card expenses, receivables, and other transactions.

• Support audit preparation by organizing workpapers, financial records, and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate across teams while contributing to finance process improvements and system transitions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated accounting or finance experience with strong knowledge of GAAP, debits, and credits.

• Hands-on experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems; NetSuite and Expensify experience are highly preferred.

• Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical skills, and ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This temporary position offers compensation of $32 per hour and is expected to last approximately four months. This is a full-time, 100% remote opportunity working approximately 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will need access to their own computer and necessary equipment to perform the role remotely.
