Job Title: Finance Attorney

Location: Fully remote within the U.S. (must reside and work from a state where the firm maintains an office - TX, OR, WA, MA, SC, NC, IL, PA, MO, CA, FL, TN, NY, NJ, Washington DC, or DE)

Schedule: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $70-$85/hr.

Employment Type: Contract (Estimated 6-month engagement with potential extension)

Job Description:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a law firm seeking an experienced Contract Finance Attorney to support its Asset & Corporate Finance practice group on a remote contract basis. This attorney will work on sophisticated commercial real estate finance and structured finance matters, with a particular emphasis on commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loan servicing transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience advising lenders, borrowers, servicers, special servicers, and other financial institutions on complex financing matters, including origination, securitization, servicing, leveraged lending, and portfolio lending transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle a variety of CMBS loan servicing matters involving performing and non-performing commercial mortgage loans
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan modifications, assumptions, equity transfer documentation, consent requests, demand letters, and other related transaction documents
  • Provide legal support on pre-default matters and other loan servicing issues as they arise
  • Advise lender, borrower, servicer, and special servicer clients on commercial real estate finance transactions and risk considerations
  • Support matters involving commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) and other structured finance transactions
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams and stakeholders to efficiently manage active matters in a high-volume environment
  • Assist with servicing, special servicing, securitization, and other financing transactions as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must reside in and be actively barred in the same state
  • 5+ years of experience handling financing transactions within a law firm or in-house legal environment
  • Strong experience with commercial finance transactions required
  • Meaningful experience in commercial real estate finance, including leveraged lending, servicing and special servicing, portfolio lending, balance sheet lending, and/or structured finance transactions preferred
  • Experience with securitization transactions, including CMBS, CLO, agency, or similar financing structures strongly preferred
  • Commercial real estate law and/or real estate finance experience strongly preferred
  • Prior CMBS experience highly preferred
  • Experience advising lenders, borrowers, servicers, special servicers, or other financial institutions is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple active matters simultaneously
