To provide support for Peoria County's Finance Department. This includes but is not limited to accurate recording of Peoria County's Funds processing invoices, deposits, and payroll vendor checks. To assist in tracking and monitoring various financial projects and help prepare initial documentation for further analysis by management.
Associate degree from an accredited college.Two to three years' experience in finance, accounting, or business area with knowledge of accounting and/or financial systems. Must have experience with double-entry bookkeeping and the maintenance of a general ledger. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required and the ability to learn other software programs. Must become familiar with GAAP and GAS B Standards and Peoria County's fiscal procedures and policies.Must have knowledge of both State and Federal regulations concerning fiscal operations.Must have effective oral and written skills and the ability to interact with others professionally. Must understand and carry out complex written and oral instructions. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision and utilize sound judgment in various situations and when making decisions. Must be organized and be able to handle multiple priorities and projects and meet deadlines.
