RSI is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Finance & Compliance Field Assistant to support resident financial account reconciliation, benefits eligibility monitoring, and related compliance activities across RSI's 16 licensed homes.
This newly created position will help centralize and standardize financial account reconciliation and compliance support, ensuring resident accounts are accurately maintained and financial information is consistently monitored across locations.
The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with basic financial records, able to work independently at multiple locations, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy when handling resident financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site reconciliation of resident checking, savings, and petty cash accounts.
Review financial records and ledgers to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate account balances.
Monitor resident assets and financial information for compliance with government benefit eligibility requirements.
Provide administrative support related to Representative Payee (Rep Payee) and ABLE accounts.
Maintain organized documentation and records related to resident financial accounts and compliance activities.
Communicate identified discrepancies or compliance concerns to the Finance Director and appropriate staff.
Travel regularly between RSI's 16 licensed homes and RSI offices to complete assigned financial and administrative tasks.
Provide light administrative support to the Finance and Programmatic Departments as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive resident financial information appropriately.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
No finance degree or formal finance education required.
Ability to read and understand basic financial statements, account records, and ledgers.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use organizational software and systems.
Reliable transportation and a valid North Carolina driver's license.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors and team members.
Ability and willingness to travel between RSI locations during the workday.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with bookkeeping, financial reconciliation, administrative support, or compliance-related work.
Experience working with individuals receiving government benefits or managing benefit eligibility requirements.
Familiarity with Representative Payee or ABLE accounts.
Experience in a nonprofit, human services, residential services, or similar environment.
Pay: $16/hour
Schedule: Full-time or part-time, non-exempt
Travel: Regular travel required between RSI's 16 licensed homes and RSI offices in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area.
