Finance Director / Controller

Position Summary

Aspen Global is seeking a highly skilled Finance Director / Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing manufacturing and co-packing business. This individual will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, cash flow management, internal controls, and system optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing environments and a deep understanding of ERP systems, inventory management, and operational finance.

This role serves as a key member of the leadership team and will partner closely with the CEO and operations leaders to drive profitability, efficiency, and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting dashboards.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Monitor company cash flow and working capital requirements.

Manufacturing & Cost Accounting

  • Maintain accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
  • Analyze labor, material, overhead, and production costs.
  • Monitor manufacturing efficiencies and profitability by customer, product, and production line.
  • Support pricing strategies and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate inventory controls and reconciliation processes.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Lead ERP and financial system optimization initiatives.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Develop scalable systems and controls to support company growth.
  • Partner with operations to improve data accuracy and visibility across departments.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and financial policies.

Leadership

  • Build strong relationships across operations, sales, customer service, and executive leadership.
  • Train and mentor accounting and administrative staff as needed.
  • Provide leadership in financial decision-making and business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience.
  • Manufacturing, food production, co-packing, or industrial experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
