The Town of Stowe is seeking an experienced and collaborative Finance Director to serve as chief financial officer who will lead the Town's finance team and be an integral part of the municipality's leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a municipal finance professional who wants to do more than manage numbers. You'll help turn financial information into meaningful insights, support sound decision-making, promote transparency and accountability, and serve as a trusted partner in managing the Town's finances.
The successful candidate will also benefit from a thoughtful transition with the Town's current Finance Director, who is preparing for retirement. The Town of Stowe is a full-service municipality that operates under the Council/Manager form of government. Departments include Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Town Clerk, Planning & Zoning, Lister, Public Works, Water, Wastewater, Highway, Library, Parks & Recreation including an Arena, and public safety with Police, Fire Rescue and Mountain Rescue. The Town of Stowe has a workforce of 82 full-time employees and approximately 80 part-time emergency services and seasonal personnel. It has a General Fund Budget of $19 million, a Water Fund Budget of $1.5 Million, and a Sewer Fund Budget of $2.5 million. In addition, it has several capital reserve funds.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $90,000-$130,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
