Description The Business Strategy & Concepts (BSC) Finance team supports Fulfillment Technologies & Robotics (FTR) leadership to shape Amazon's future automation and technology roadmap. We provide the financial insights, portfolio governance, and strategic planning mechanisms that enable leadership to make informed investment decisions and align resources against Amazon's long-term operational objectives. This role serves as a key member of the BSC Finance team, owning financial planning, portfolio analytics, and executive reporting across FTR's innovation and emerging technology investments. The position partners closely with business, product, and finance leaders to evaluate investment opportunities, monitor performance against strategic objectives, and deliver insights that influence multi-year planning and resource allocation decisions. Key job responsibilities Lead financial planning, forecasting, and monthly close activities for FTR's Business Strategy & Concepts portfolio, ensuring accurate visibility into operating expenses, headcount, and investment performance. Own the consolidation and executive-level reporting of FTR program forecasts, actuals, risks, and opportunities for Director, VP, and SVP leadership reviews. Develop and maintain portfolio-level financial models that assess investment strategies, business cases, technology deployment scenarios, and long-range growth opportunities. Partner with business leaders to evaluate emerging technologies, innovation initiatives, and new business concepts, translating complex operational strategies into actionable financial insights. Drive Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and planning cycles by synthesizing financial performance, strategic priorities, and key business drivers into executive-ready narratives. Establish mechanisms to monitor portfolio performance against strategic objectives, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into investment returns, resource allocation, and execution risks. Support long-range planning and roadmap development, helping leadership understand how FTR's business, technology investments, and automation strategies will evolve over a 3- to 5-year horizon. Identify opportunities to automate reporting, improve financial processes, and enhance decision-support tools across the organization. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience - 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience - 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience - 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience - 5+ years of finance, tax or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
