We are looking for a Finance Manager, Distribution & Transportation to lead financial strategy, cost optimization, and analytics within sourcing, trade and procurement. This role will work closely with Sourcing, Global Trade, and Finance teams to enhance efficiencies, improve supplier negotiations, and develop resilient sourcing strategies that mitigate risks, ensure supply continuity, and enhance supplier diversification.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Enterprise Finance and is based in Irvine, CA

As the Finance Manager, Distribution & Transportation, you will have an opportunity to:

Financial Strategy & Cost Optimization

  • Drive FP&A for Distribution, Transportation & Fulfillment – Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to optimize logistics and fulfillment cost structures.
  • Develop Cost & Network Models – Build and refine models to support distribution network design, carrier negotiations, warehouse capacity, and fulfillment channel decisions.
  • Identify Cost-Saving Opportunities – Analyze freight rates, warehousing costs, fulfillment costs, and returns processing to drive financial efficiency across the network.
  • Lead Cost Productivity Initiatives – Partner with cross-functional teams to design, evaluate, and implement cost-reduction strategies across transportation, fulfillment, and reverse logistics.

Network Resiliency & Risk Mitigation

  • Enhance Carrier Diversification – Support transportation strategies to minimize dependency on single carriers and strengthen alternative routing options through financial analysis and reporting.
  • Risk Management & Contingency Planning – Identify financial risks in the distribution and fulfillment network and support capacity planning, mode optimization, and regional distribution strategies.
  • Optimize Carrier & 3PL Agreements – Assess transportation, fulfillment, and logistics contracts to ensure financial and operational alignment with long-term business objectives.

Analytics & Performance Tracking

  • Establish Key Financial KPIs – Monitor and improve cost per unit shipped, freight cost trends, warehouse productivity, fulfillment cost per order, returns cost, and carrier performance.
  • Leverage Data & Technology – Use financial analytics, big data tools, and automation to generate actionable insights on logistics cost trends, returns economics, and service levels.
  • Support Strategic Decision-Making – Provide financial recommendations to senior leadership on network design, carrier selections, insource-outsource decisions, and distribution and fulfillment investments.

You have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in CPG, manufacturing, or a fast-paced consumer-driven organization, with experience in finance and distribution, transportation, fulfillment, or logistics.
  • Financial Expertise: Proven ability to develop financial models, drive cost optimization, and manage logistics analytics.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Distribution & Fulfillment Knowledge: Strong understanding of freight cost drivers, carrier negotiations, warehousing and fulfillment operations, reverse logistics, and network optimization strategies.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and analytics tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI).
  • Strategic Influence: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
