Join our team as a Financial Analyst III sitting at the intersection of finance, operations, and technology transformation within the IXD+ network. You will leverage data analytics, AI proficiency, and financial acumen to drive standardization and automation across finance processes, reducing manual work by 40-50%. This role offers a unique opportunity to transform traditional financial reporting through AI-enabled automation while providing strategic insights that optimize supply chain operations.

In this position, you will develop scalable financial controllership frameworks that grow independently of building count and support the transformation from a site-centric to hub-based structure. You"ll translate complex operational metrics into actionable financial insights, balance standardization with network-specific needs, and contribute to AI-enabled finance transformation initiatives that have tangible business impact. If you thrive in an environment where speed matters and continuous improvement is expected, this role offers the perfect balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution.

Key job responsibilities

  • Analyze operational data to provide financial insights that optimize costs and drive business performance, applying your understanding of Amazon"s financial processes and internal controls to existing products and tools.
  • Develop and utilize AI-powered dashboards for anomaly detection and trend analysis, transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Partner with operations teams to validate business case assumptions, track performance metrics, and contribute to automated reporting systems that reduce manual work by 40-50%.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement improvements to remediate gaps, ensuring reporting accuracy by diving deep into data discrepancies and executing fixes.
  • Collaborate across finance, operations, supply chain, and technology teams to develop standardized investment evaluation processes and financial playbooks that scale independently of building count.

A day in the life

Your day begins with analyzing operational data to identify cost optimization opportunities across the newly launching, Regional Distribution Center (rDC) network. You"ll spend time developing or refining AI-powered dashboards that automatically detect anomalies and visualize trends. Throughout the day, you"ll partner with operations teams to validate business assumptions, contribute to automated reporting systems, and participate in cross-functional councils where you"ll provide financial perspectives on placement and quality strategy decisions. You"ll balance your analytical work with collaborative sessions, driving data quality improvements and system integration while validating productivity metrics.

About the team

Our team supports the rDC network, playing a critical role as financial advocates and business partners. We design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reporting on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business. Team members partner closely with a broad range of Senior Leaders in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Technology.

The team culture emphasizes data-driven decision making, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. We"re transforming traditional finance functions through technology and process excellence, focusing on controllership as our top priority while driving innovation that enables our networks to scale efficiently.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
