Finance Manager - Real Estate Investment Platform
$130K-$150K Base | Downtown Boston
A leading real estate investment platform is seeking a Finance Manager to join its real estate finance team. This role will support investment fund reporting, direct real estate investment accounting, quarterly close, valuations, investor reporting, and complex transaction activity across a diversified real estate portfolio.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with real estate accounting, fund reporting, public accounting, or real estate investment management experience who wants broad exposure to fund vehicles, direct investments, portfolio operations, valuation matters, and cross-functional work with investment, legal, tax, compliance, asset management, investor relations, capital markets, and portfolio analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee quarterly and annual fund-level financial reporting, including fair value U.S. GAAP reporting and review of supporting workpapers
Support accounting and reporting oversight for direct real estate investments across a diversified portfolio
Analyze investment and fund activity, including promote calculations, management fees, ownership transfers, partial sales, and other complex transactions
Monitor fund-level cash positions and coordinate capital calls, distributions, acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing's, and related funding needs
Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, JV partners, and internal teams on reporting, valuation, audit, and investment-related matters
Address investor inquiries and support preparation of investor-specific deliverables
Coach junior team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives, including AI enablement
Qualifications:
5-8 years of relevant accounting experience within the real estate industry
Real estate investment management experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred
Fund reporting and/or public accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of real estate valuation, portfolio operations, financial reporting, and fair value reporting
Experience with promote calculations, complex fund structures, investor reporting, and investment activity analysis preferred
General understanding of REITs and real estate investment vehicles
Yardi experience preferred, but not required
Strong communication, attention to detail, professionalism, ownership, and ability to meet deadlines
