The Sub Same Day team covers a portfolio of high-growth businesses with unique fulfillment and operational capabilities byeond core fulfillment, such as Grocery, Pharmacy, and HazMat. Our Finance teams partner closely with our operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business, drive operational excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions, with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long-term profitability for our portfolio of businesses. We experiment constantly, fail fast, and never stop learning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, sustain a higher level of controllership, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They will collaborate with various stakeholders and business units across Amazon, bring excellent verbal and written communication skills, and prioritize the most impactful projects and programs to drive businesses forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity of building innovative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leverage financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon
  • Deliver financial reporting/planning working across stakeholders to understand input drivers, validate reporting integrity, and influence strategic decision-making and action plans
  • Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
  • Use active listening skills and communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly
  • Participates in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members. Seeks and leverages diverse perspectives
