Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor"s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

  • Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience automating and optimizing financial processes using a combination of technical, analytical and AI skills.
  • Experience utilizing SQL to extract and manipulate complex data sets for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Experience in core FP&A responsibilities, forecast, close, financial reporting.
  • Experience with internal financial access tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels, and to agreements with ambiguity and grow in a rapidly changing environment.

About the job

As a Finance Optimization Analyst for Data and Insights, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of financial data at Google. This is a high-impact role where you will leverage Cloud technology to architect a single source of truth (SSOT) data sets and implement sophisticated role-based access across the product lifecycle. By joining the Cloud Finance Data Stewardship team, you won"t just manage data you will become a definitive subject matter expert, driving the insights that empower executive decision-making and fuel Google"s financial innovation.

We are looking for a visionary professional who is deeply passionate about innovation and growth at the intersection of finance and technology. You are a natural problem-solver who enjoys deconstructing complex issues and architecting elegant, scalable solutions that transform how we operate. As a key driver of efficiency, you take immense pride in empowering the Finance organization through process optimization and insights. You are highly accountable and lead with ownership, ensuring that high-impact projects are executed with excellence and precision. In this role, you will find ample opportunities to expand your technical prowess, particularly in advancing your skills with AI and other technologies as you shape our data landscape.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $141000 - $206000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives by partnering with stakeholders to architect and execute high-impact finance optimization projects, with a primary focus on establishing a Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for mission-critical Cloud cost and margin reporting.
  • Leverage AI and advanced SQL to interrogate financial datasets, pioneering automated data reconciliation and engineering sophisticated access models that empower Finance leadership with real-time, actionable insights.
  • Act as a Lead Data Steward within the Cloud Finance organization, defining the standards for data integrity and governing secure, streamlined access to the next generation of Finance-owned assets and integrations.
  • Influence executive decision-making by distilling complex technical optimization metrics into compelling narratives and reports for Google's executive leadership team.
