Job DescriptionAgriSompo has a unique opportunity for a Financial Accountant in our Finance team.We are seeking a Financial Accountant to support accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. In this role, you will take ownership of preparing key accounting schedules, maintaining well‑organized financial records, and ensuring company activity is appropriately captured and reported. You will apply the correct accounting treatments and contribute to the overall integrity, control environment, and usability of our financial data.Location: This position will be based out of our Lubbock, TX office. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.What you'll be doing:Compile, analyze, and organize financial data, including transactions, costs, and expendituresPrepare and post journal entries in the general ledger as part of monthly and quarterly close cyclesMaintain accurate, up‑to‑date financial records, reconciliations, and tie‑outs to support reporting needsSupport timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial close activitiesAssist the Controller and Senior Financial Accounting Manager with projects and deliverables, including quarterly close presentationsCollaborate with cross‑functional teams to coordinate tasks, resolve issues, and share informationCompile and maintain supporting documentation for internal and external auditsHelp maintain and improve internal controls to promote compliance, accuracy, and consistencyProvide backup coverage for colleagues and cross‑train others on key activitiesContinuously evaluate existing processes and implement improvements to drive efficiency and effectivenessContribute to financial analytics and reporting support to help explain and validate reported resultsAbility to adopt and implement artificial intelligence tools in daily work processes where neededWhat you'll bring:EducationRequired - bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)ExperienceMinimum 3 years of relevant accounting experienceKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSolid understanding of GAAP ; familiarity with IFRS and U.S. Statutory accounting is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applicationsExperience with accounting systems/software; SAP experience is a plusStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and math skillsHigh accuracy and attention to detail; ability to meet tight deadlinesEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to succeed in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with shifting prioritiesSelf‑motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityDemonstrated initiative and a mindset for process improvementAn interest in implementing technology to support and streamline activitiesPhysical Demands & RequirementsSedentary work.
