Financial Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant (Title BOE – based on experience)

  • Confidential Search | Charleston, SC Area | Hybrid or Remote Available
  • Current or Former Public Accounting Preferred

If you're currently in public accounting and wondering what the right first move into industry looks like, or if you've already made that move and are looking for significantly more technical exposure and long-term growth, this is the kind of opportunity that rarely becomes available in the Charleston, SC market.

A rare opportunity to join a well-capitalized, rapidly expanding organization at an exciting stage of its growth in one of the best places to live/travel to in the United States.

New Talent has been exclusively retained to identify a high-caliber accounting professional for a newly created position supporting a growing, multi-entity organization with ambitious expansion plans over the next several years.

This is far more than a traditional Financial Accountant position.

You'll join a finance organization that is actively investing in its people, systems, and infrastructure while partnering directly with executive leadership to help build a best-in-class accounting and financial reporting function. With significant financial backing already in place, the company is scaling operations and adding experienced professionals who want to make a measurable impact.

For the right individual, this position offers strong visibility, technical depth, long-term advancement potential, and flexible WFH options.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Newly created position due to company growth
  • Direct exposure to the VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, CFO, and executive leadership
  • Opportunity to help build and standardize accounting processes across a multi-entity organization
  • Significant career advancement potential as the finance organization continues to expand
  • Hybrid schedule for local candidates
  • Remote candidates with exceptional experience will be considered
  • Competitive compensation with flexibility for outstanding candidates

What You'll Be Doing

This position blends approximately 2/3 technical financial accounting with 1/3 financial reporting, making it an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys both operational accounting and complex accounting matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process while receiving mentorship from an experienced finance leadership team.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures under U.S. GAAP
  • Assist with monthly management reporting and financial analysis
  • Support external audits, including PBC schedules and technical accounting documentation
  • Lead process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting standardization efforts
  • Support and lead internal controls and technical accounting projects
  • Work closely with senior finance leadership on high-impact accounting initiatives

Ideal Background

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting issues rather than simply processing transactions.

Who This Opportunity Is Perfect For

  • You're an auditor wondering when to make the jump to industry.
  • You're a Senior Accountant who misses the technical side of public accounting.
  • You want greater exposure to financial reporting, leadership, and executive visibility.
  • You want a role with a clear runway for advancement over the next 3–5 years.

Strong candidates may include:

  • Current or former public accounting professionals (Big 4 or Top 40 CPA firms preferred, but if you are an outlier with applicable experience, please apply)
  • Senior Accountants or Accounting Managers with prior audit experience
  • Professionals with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and some type of financial reporting experience
  • Some experience in preparing consolidated financial statements, but NOT A DEAL BREAKER
  • Multi-entity accounting experience is a plus, but NOT A DEAL BREAKER
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience is helpful but not required
  • CPA or CPA-track candidates are attractive, but NOT A DEAL BREAKER; experience trumps all

Experience with ERP systems (Familiarity) and advanced Excel skills are expected.

Compensation

  • $90,000–$120,000 base salary, plus bonus and other ancillary gains
  • Exceptional candidates may be considered up to approximately $130,000
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Strong long-term career growth opportunity

If you're looking for a position where you can work alongside experienced finance leadership, broaden your technical accounting expertise, and help shape the future of a growing organization, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.

All inquiries will be handled with the utmost confidentiality through New Talent.
