The Project:
The operator of a major international airport is considering a further update to expand the main terminal, reconfigure concourses and phase out legacy passenger transport systems.
Shared with airline stakeholders earlier this year, the proposed programme is estimated at c.$22 billion, with completion targeted in the mid-2030s, forming part of a wider transformation to support significant long-term passenger growth.
By comparison, the existing master plan approved in 2025 outlined c.$7 billion of phased capital investment, aligned to projections of up to 90 million annual passengers by the end of the century.

You'll Be Responsible For:
Collaborates with Project Managers to help drive project performance and ensure that high quality financial decisions are made on the project.
Provides objective financial advice and opinions that positively impact the future of the project and associated plan.
Provides objective challenge regarding spend plans and take a proactive role in looking for opportunities to deliver services more efficiently and effectively.
Investigate opportunities as well as high risk and material financial issues, or problem areas, on the projects.
Develops and proposes solutions and options to resolve/progress concerns to a satisfactory outcome.
Manages a large team (or several) of senior direct reports, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities.
Works closely with the Commercial Team to provide forward looking insight and challenge, adding demonstrable value through delivering business insight.
Influences and challenges financial plans, supporting the production of financial budgets, forecasts and analysis and acting as a critical adviser on key financial decisions.
Reviews financial performance information and plans, (prepared by the Project Manager) - including the Financial Plan, Budget and Forecast, to ensure they are robust and accurately reflect key project issues
Ensures good cost control and cost management behavior on projects. Promote good financial disciplines, and risk management processes.
Ensure a robust and effective internal control framework and compliance environment exists across the project and addresses risk management processes.
Ensures accounting processes on projects (billing, management of revenue and capitalization of projects) are disciplined and effective.
Works collaboratively with members of the Finance Business Partner community (across other Business Units) to promote and share business partnering ideas, learnings, experiences and best practice.
Develops an effective relationship with key staff in the Oracle Support Centre.
Works collaboratively with the Super Users and support the development of an effective network.
Support the set-up of projects and tasks structures so that the appropriate management information can be extracted.
Acts as a positive representative for Finance with business stakeholders.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Delivers performance management, technical development, direction and coaching.
Leads the implementation of a systematic performance improvement cycle to continually improve the quality of (i.e. area).
Maintains, cultivates and establishes a strong collaborative network, developing partnerships with key senior internal and external stakeholders.
Manages, influences & negotiates with key senior stakeholders (c-suite & board) on matters of strategic importance.
You'll need to have:
Strong knowledge and experience in budgeting, planning and forecasting.
Strong knowledge and experience in management reporting and analysis.
Ability to provide actionable insight and recommendation to business counterparts.
Strong ability to provide sound project financial advice.
Financial/accounting experience.
Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent)
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
Demonstrable experience in delivering a Finance Business Partner role.
Adaptable and influential; able to deliver information in a digestible way to their audience, with clarity and precision.
Comfortable with risk and working with ambiguity.
Strong attention to quality and detail.
Note: The estimated starting salary for this position is $170k. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
