  Student Financial Aid Job Description

  The Financial Aid Advisor role is an integral part of the Student Financial Aid office. This position synthesizes information from all financial aid areas and provides excellent customer service to students and their families. This fast-paced environment allows multiple training opportunities as well as professional growth.Financial Aid Advisors must be flexible and enjoy helping students and families navigate the financial aid process, working together on a team, and completing various tasks each day.Advise students and families on financial aid eligibility requirements for federal, state, and institutional aid programsCommunicate with students and parents in person, on the phone, and through e-mail Assist students with completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)Discuss scholarship and grant renewal criteriaCounsel students and parents on Satisfactory Academic Progress, the Special -Circumstances process, and VerificationAdvise students on study abroad costs and trip planningAssist students with Loan Entrance and Exit CounselingCounsel students on loan debt, repayments plans, and loan consolidationPerform outreach activities, including supervising an information table at events, high school presentations, and departmental presentationsRepresent Student Financial Aid within the state, regional, and national financial aid organizationsOther duties as assigned   Shift

  40 hours/weekOccasional weekends and evenings are possible   Minimum Qualifications

  A Bachelor''s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Anticipated Hiring Range
