    The Financial Aid Advisor position provides outstanding financial aid advising and customer service via telephone, e-mail, virtual, and in person to students and families regarding financial aid application, eligibility, awards, processes, guidelines, and technical regulations. This position is responsible for assisting with major financial aid processes and will be assigned to support specific financial aid programs. The successful incumbent will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently, be personable, respectful, as well as part of a collaborative team. SFA advisors play a critical role in the success and engagement of students and assist with recruitment efforts and outreach, student retention, and providing access to Alamo Colleges. Ability to learn and use moderately complex manual and computerized student information systems (Banner) to manage and update student records

    Outside working hours if other than M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Able to work at any of the five Alamo Colleges or at the District Office location and work until 7:00 PM when needed and some Saturdays from 9:00 AM -1:00 PM.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
    • Two years of professional work experience as a Financial Aid Advisor or related

    experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience:

    • Master's degree.
    • Three years of professional work experience as a Financial Aid Advisor or related experience.
    • Bilingual.
