This position offers a meaningful blend of student service, problem-solving, compliance, and community engagement. Youll develop expertise in federal financial aid regulations, exercise professional judgment in evaluating unique student circumstances, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and responsible administration of aid programs. In addition, youll represent UVU through outreach events, high school presentations, and student orientation programs, helping prospective and current students understand the resources available to support their success. Whether assisting an individual student or presenting to a large audience, your work will play an important role in advancing educational opportunity and student achievement.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties; or any combination of education and/or experience totaling five years.

Knowledge
Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to financial aid and scholarships, including need analysis, eligibility assessment, verification, packaging strategies, loan awarding, default prevention, Federal Work Study, Return of Title IV, and evaluation of academic progress.
Knowledge of financial aid institutional policies and procedures.
Knowledge of computerized financial aid systems, preferably Banner.
Knowledge of computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint, internet tools, email systems, and other general computer skills.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Skills
High technical aptitude and skill in problem solving, technical troubleshooting, decision-making, and prioritizing.

Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
