We are actively searching for a Financial Analyst in the Bowie MD area for an ultra-high end custom estate contractor. This client isn't just known for building houses, but curating legacies. They pride themselves on unparalleled craftsmanship and sophisticated project management. Now looking for an Assistant Controller who is as precise with numbers as their artisans are with their craft.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive and hands-on Finance professional to partner directly with the CEO in strengthening the financial, accounting, operational and administrative infrastructure of the remodeling & new construction departments, and affiliated companies. The role owns the creation, implementation and ongoing management of key financial reporting, operational processes and accountability systems across the organization. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day execution in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

3. Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis
•Develop and implement company-wide utilization reporting systems
•Create operational and financial KPI dashboards for leadership review
•Support the CEO and leadership team with financial analysis, forecasting and reporting
•Improve budgeting, job costing and profitability reporting
•Analyze labor utilization, overhead allocation and operational efficiency metrics
•Lead cash flow forecasting and financial planning
Operational Process Development
•Build accountability systems and reporting procedures
•Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements across accounting, operations and administration
•Support implementation of new software systems and operational tools
•Coordinate cross-functional special projects spanning accounting, operations, HR and field teams
Human Resources & Hiring
•Create and implement a formalized hiring process
•Develop onboarding and employee orientation procedures
•Support leadership on organizational structure and personnel planning
•Evaluate employee benefits (Project Bonus, Annual Bonus, 401(k) match) and retention programs
•Support employee performance tracking and review systems
Systems & Technology
•Implement and optimize Sage Intacct, Procore and related systems
•Develop improved management dashboards
•Coordinate with third-party consultants and software implementation teams
•Standardize reporting and operational procedures across affiliated companies
•Maintain data accuracy and consistency across systems
Accounting & Analytical Support
•Partner with the Controller on the monthly financial close
•Prepare and review annual financial statements for use with banks, owners and users
•Provide accounting and analytical support as needed
Leadership Support
•Work directly with the CEO, VP of HR and VP of Brand/Innovation on strategic initiatives and special projects
•Support evaluation of outside investments in related businesses
•Prepare presentations, reports and financial summaries for management meetings
•Support board, lender and investor reporting requests
•Track progress of company-wide initiatives and operational goals
•Support leadership communications, including the company newsletter
•Assist the CEO with family office matters

4. Required Qualifications

•3+ years of finance, accounting, operations or business-management experience
•Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities
•Demonstrated experience implementing operational processes and systems
•Strong organizational and project-management skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software (Sage Intacct, Procore or similar)
•Ability to communicate effectively with both field and office personnel
•Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution

5. Preferred Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
•Experience in construction, project-based businesses or professional services
