Financial Analyst
Pay: $30.00 $45.00/hour
Hours: Monday Friday | 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Location: Chicago, IL 60637 | Hybrid Remote up to 2 days per week
Duration: 3 month contract - The position has potential for extension or full-time conversion based on performance; however, conversion is not guaranteed.
Overview
Seeking a Financial Analyst to develop, maintain, and analyze financial information, records, reports, and projections. This position supports financial reporting, account reconciliation, fiscal close activities, and grant management while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Required Skills
Experience with financial analysis, accounting, or financial reporting.
Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports and data.
Experience creating and processing journal entries.
Account reconciliation experience.
Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies and mis-posted transactions.
Knowledge of accounting standards and financial recordkeeping practices.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain organized financial documentation and audit-ready records.
Ability to collaborate with finance teams and internal stakeholders.
Additional Requirements/Duties
Develop, maintain, and analyze financial information, plans, and projections.
Create and execute journal entries to correct mis-posted financial transactions.
Perform regular account reconciliations to maintain financial data integrity.
Review financial reports for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and help prevent recurring errors.
Assist with monthly and annual fiscal closing activities, including schedules and reconciliations.
Prepare financial reports and data summaries for internal stakeholders.
Maintain organized digital financial and accounting records.
Support grant management activities, including interim and final financial reports, award modifications, amendments, no-cost extensions, re-budgeting, PI concurrence, and carry-over requests.
Assist with grant audit requests by compiling supporting financial documentation.
Prepare or present training materials as needed.
Analyze and interpret financial data and provide technical guidance to other departments.
May provide guidance to lower-level staff.
