JOB DESCRIPTION
The Capital Analyst on the Project Intake team plays a critical role in evaluating software-related capital projects. This position ensures compliance with internal capitalization policies and supports accurate financial classification of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Assessment & Intake
- Review incoming project requests for alignment with capital policy and strategic objectives.
- Validate completeness of Statements of Work (SOWs) and supporting documentation.
- Capital vs. O&M Analysis
- Analyze project deliverables and costs to determine proper classification (CapEx vs. OpEx).
- Provide clear documentation and recommendations for financial coding.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with IT teams, Finance, and project managers to ensure accurate intake and classification.
- Communicate findings and recommendations in clear, concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to internal capital software policy and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for audit and reporting purposes.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline intake and classification workflows.
- Leverage automation and AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Experience with fixed assets, capital project management, or capital project budgeting preferred.
- Understanding of CapEx vs. OpEx principles and financial governance.
